Sullivan Named President of NAMI National Board Print E-mail

July 6, 2010 - Former Connecticut Lieutenant Governor and Senate President Pro Tem Kevin B. Sullivan has been elected president of the national board of directors of the National Alliance to End Homelessness.

Sheila Amdur of West Hartford is 1st Vice President of the national organization, which advocates for the rights and opportunities -- including safe, secure, affordable and appropriate housing -- for those who have had mental illness. Sullivan is a former mayor of West Hartford who represented West Hartford and Burlington in the General Assembly for more than a decade. He has long been active in efforts to create supportive housing and serve the needs of those with disabilities.
